Memorial Day 2007

Sunday was a really nice day, warm and sunny although it did get a little breezy in the afternoon.  The Cemetery looked really nice when we took the flowers up.  In this picture, Dad and Jan were watching someone else adjusting the flag on the flag pole.  Our caretaker called me Sunday morning to say she couldn't get the flag above half-mast.  We checked it out and found that the cable is going bad and was jamming at the top, so with the help of a little duct tape, we got it working for the weekend.

The lilacs are all gone here at home except for the french lilac behind the trailer that usually blooms in June.  It is just opening.  However, the lilacs at the cemetery still have some color although they are fading fast.

Re-took the pictures of the family stones on Monday after the American Legion ceremony for the veterans.  Another nice day until late afternoon when it got cold fast and the wind howled.  Had to happen.  Always have high winds on Memorial Day weekend!
